Beaming Freida Pinto leaves Asprey clutching a shopping bag... but was it a gift from Dev Patel?

They repeatedly refused to comment on the status of their relationship, but there was no denying Freida Pinto and Dev Patel looked every inch the loved up couple last night.

Leaving a Fashion's Night Out event at prestigious jewellery store Asprey in Bond Street, the Slumdog Millionaire co-stars were all smiles as they held hands.

Even more tellingly, the Indian actress was carrying one of Asprey's famous purple bags - perhaps containing a pricey gem from boyfriend Dev?

Freida, 24, looked stunning in a one-shouldered purple mini-dress and black satin peep-toe heels, while Dev looked dapper in a black trousers suit.

The young couple were guests at the BAFTA private dinner at the store, which recognised young British talent.

Freida was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Bafta earlier this year, while Dev, 19, took home the Most Promising Newcomer honour.

The couple have reportedly been dating since falling for each other on the set of Slumdog Millionaire last year, but have declined to discuss their relationship.

While Freida has been filming the new Woody Allen movie in London, Dev has frequently been spotted socialising with the beauty around the capital.

This week alone they attended a Hermes party on Monday night, as well as the Asprey bash.

The actress remained coy over their romance when she attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards on Tuesday night.

She said: 'Why does everybody ask me where Dev is? I don't know where he is, I don't have him on a leash, he's doing his own thing.

'I don't know what's going on. I find it funny that people are so interested in what we're doing.'

Earlier this year, their Slumdog co-star Anil Kapoor hinted at their romance, saying: 'When I meet them, I feel there is something happening. They have a magical chemistry.'
